Saucepan and advert for Brooke's soap

As kitchen ranges become more widely used, heavy cast iron cooking pots changed into lighter saucepans. A long handle made it possible to keep away from the heat of the coal fire whilst cooking.

Brookes soap was used for washing dishes and cleaning pots and pans.
