Model of the Moon and Photograph of its creator, Roger Langdon

In 1847 Roger Langdon, stationmaster at Silverton, Devon made the first model of the surface of the visible hemisphere of the moon, with 500 features, craters, dark hollows, mountains. His observations of the moon were made with a telescope he had made himself!
