The barrel piano is mounted on a wheeled cart so that it can be pushed around the streets. It was made about 1900.

It was used by the Salvation Army to play hymns. These were later replaced by popular tunes and the barrel piano was used to entertain people at fairs and carnivals in Tiverton.
